Syrsky appointed as Commander-in-Chief, Zelensky's first move to renew Ukraine Armed Forces

Ukraine's President Zelensky appoints Oleksandr Syrsky as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, following the dismissal of Valerii Zaluzhnyi

In a proactive move on Thursday, Zelensky announced that he appointed Ground Troops Commander, Oleksandr Syrsky as Ukraine's new Commander-in-Chief as Ukraine renews its command structure of the military forces. 

"Starting today, a new management team will take over the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," Zelensky said as he appointed General Syrsky as the Commander-in-Chief shortly after announcing the dismissal of Valerii Zaluzhnyi, former seat-holder of the position.

Former Commander-in-Chief approved the ideals of President Zelensky as he stated that the Ukrainian military structure and plans regarding the Russian invasion "must change," adding that "Tasks of 2022 are different from those of 2024. Therefore, everyone must change and adapt to the new realities as well."
