On Thursday, Russian drones attacked apartment buildings in Kharkiv, resulting in the deaths of at least four individuals in Ukraine's second-largest urban center, according to officials.
Governor of Kharkiv Region Oleh Synehubov said at least four people had been killed in the attacks, along with three search and rescue personnel who lost their lives in a subsequent strike at the same location.
Ukrainian officials have reported that a series of drones manufactured in Iran, called Shahid, struck the border city, causing injuries to at least 12 individuals.
Synehubov noted that Russia deployed a minimum of 15 unmanned aerial vehicles in the attacks on Kharkiv.
Kharkiv, which serves as the administrative hub of the eponymous region, is positioned just 30 kilometers (18.64 miles) from the Russian border and has been subjected to frequent bombardment since Moscow initiated its invasion in February 2022.
