President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will chair a critical security meeting in Istanbul on Saturday, Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said.
The decision for the unexpected security meeting came after nine Turkish soldiers were martyred and four others were injured in an attack by the PKK terrorist organization in the Operation Claw-Lock region in northern Iraq on Friday. The Turkish Armed Forces have eliminated some 15 terrorists.
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Defense Minister Yasar Guler, Chief of General Staff Gen. Metin Gurak, and the head of the National Intelligence Organization Ibrahim Kalin will attend the meeting, which will take place at the Dolmabahce Office in Istanbul at 2.30 a.m. local time.
