Ukrainian citizens hold mostly positive view of Türkiye, study finds

In a recent study conducted jointly by Active Group and Experts Club, Ukrainian sentiments towards countries across East Asia and the Middle East have been thoroughly examined. The study provides insightful data on how Ukrainians perceive Türkiye, among other nations

The key results highlight a predominantly positive outlook towards Türkiye:

• Completely positive: 7.7%
• Mostly positive: 47.4%
• Mostly negative: 14.1%
• Completely negative: 2.4%
• Difficult to answer: 28.5%

Overall, the positive sentiment (completely positive and mostly positive) stands at 55.1%, while the negative sentiment (mostly negative and completely negative) is 16.5%.

The historical context between Ukraine and Türkiye dates back to November 20, 1991, when consular relations were established. Formal diplomatic ties followed on February 3, 1992, culminating in the opening of the Turkish Embassy in Kyiv on April 3 of the same year.
