The Governor of the Central Bank of Turkiye, Hafize Gaye Erkan on Thursday refuted recent misleading rumors targeting both herself and her family. The statement addressed the circulation of deceptive and intentionally false information that affected trust in the bank negatively.
The Governor expressed her disappointment, particularly in light of the baseless claims she encountered during highly productive meetings with influential figures in the economic and business spheres of the United States.
"I am shocked and saddened to learn of these unfounded allegations circulating in the media, specifically targeting myself and our esteemed institution," Erkan stated.
The unsubstantiated accusations against the Governor and the Central Bank are deemed unacceptable, and she emphasized that appropriate legal actions will be pursued against those responsible.
"I will exercise all necessary legal rights to hold the perpetrators accountable," the Governor added.
