Foreign interest in Türkiye’s real estate market has notably shifted, with a significant decrease in home sales to foreign buyers over the past year.
According to Türkiye’s Statistical Institute (TurkStat), property sales to foreigners dropped by 37.2% from January to October compared to the same period last year, totaling 19,212 units.
In October alone, Türkiye recorded 165,138 home sales nationwide, marking an 11.9% increase for the January to October period compared to the previous year.
However, while domestic demand rose, foreign purchases continued to decline.
Despite the slowdown, Antalya and Istanbul remain the top destinations for foreign property buyers, with the list of preferred cities as follows:
Antalya has emerged as the most sought-after city, attracting buyers with its Mediterranean appeal, coastal lifestyle, and developed infrastructure. Istanbul follows closely, offering a blend of vibrant urban life and strategic investment value.
This shift in foreign demand reflects changing global market dynamics, yet Türkiye remains a prominent choice for international homebuyers.
