Following Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi's recent official visit to Türkiye, details of the bilateral agreements have been emerging. Among the items of interest to Cairo are Türkiye's domestically developed KAAN fighter jet and Steel Dome air defense system.
The 36-point joint statement and 17 signed agreements reached during the visit have garnered significant attention from both regional and international observers.
During his visit to Ankara, President el-Sissi is reported to have closely observed the KAAN project and the Iron Dome system, making various partnership requests from Ankara.
There are also indications that Egypt has expressed a desire to participate in the KAAN project and requested the Steel Dome system to protect its airspace.
