Chief of Turkish General Staff inspects Eurofighter Typhoon at Coningsby Air Base

General Metin Gurak, the Chief of the Turkish General Staff, visited Osman Koray Ertas, the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to London, during his official visit to the United Kingdom.

General Gurak addressed the Turkish personnel stationed at NATO Maritime Command (MARCOM) during his visit. Additionally, he conducted comprehensive examinations at Coningsby Air Base and the U.K. Joint Operations Command (CJO).

During his visit to Coningsby Air Base, General Gürak posed for photos with the Eurofighter Typhoon FGR4 fighter aircraft that Türkiye plans to purchase.

As it is known, Türkiye has shown that it is quite serious and persistent in the purchase of Eurofighter Typhoon jets. The Ministry of National Defense issued an official statement on March 15 that underscored Türkiye's dedication to receiving compensation for F-35 fighter aircraft and the ongoing negotiations with allied countries regarding the procurement of Eurofighter Typhoon jets.
