Turkish defense giant Aselsan has signed a foreign sales contract with a total value of approximately $79.3 million for the use of its customers in the Asia and Middle East regions.
A statement on the Public Disclosure Platform of Aselsan stated, "Aselsan has signed foreign sales contracts with a total value of $79,277,900 for the export of defense systems, including electronic warfare, radar, sonar systems, and guidance kits, for the final use of its customers based in Asia and the Middle East. The export of the Fersah 100-N/MF Sonar system, designed for submarine defense, will be realized for the first time under these contracts."
Aselsan's Fersah sonar, consisting of five modules in total, is an active/passive sonar system operating in the medium-frequency band. Its primary mission is to meet the needs of submarine defense warfare (SDW). In addition to SDW, the system also has a mode for avoiding mine-like objects.
Aselsan Fersah can detect and track 32 targets in active mode and eight targets in passive mode. It has a 360-degree coverage area for SDW and a 90-degree coverage area for mine avoidance system (MAS). The system features an open architecture, modular design, modern signal processing algorithms, a user-friendly interface, a training simulator, reinforced structure, compliance with military standards, independent operation capability, integration with combat management system (CMS), device internal test (DIT) feature, water-cooled cabinet structure, acoustic data recording, data mobility, dummy load capability, raw data recording and playback, intrinsic noise recording capability, real-time screen capture/video recording and playback, and printer output capability.
