Barcelona secured a thrilling 2-1 victory at Celta Vigo's home, thanks to a pivotal penalty shot by Robert Lewandowski in stoppage time. The Catalan giants are much relieved by this victory, especially in light of a string of poor outings that increased the pressure on the group and its leadership.
The contest came to a climax in the last minutes when Barcelona's seasoned striker, Lewandowski, was given a rare second opportunity at a penalty after Vicente Guaita, the goalkeeper for Celta, had blocked his first effort. The penalty was retaken because Guaita had prematurely crossed his line, according to a VAR assessment. Lewandowski took advantage of the second chance and executed it coolly, putting the ball in the corner and securing Barcelona's three points.
