Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray's forward on loan from Napoli, caused chaos outside a nightclub in Istanbul.
The Nigerian striker reportedly attacked journalists and issued threats after they tried to photograph him and his friends as they left the venue.
The incident happened late at night in front of a nightclub in Maslak that had been previously shut down by authorities.
Osimhen and a group of 10 friends left the venue when reporters, including Posta journalist Tolga Bozduman, began taking photos. Witnesses said Osimhen became furious when he noticed the cameras.
Bozduman described the altercation, saying, "As soon as the flashes went off, he started shouting and ran at me. He tried to grab my camera, but I held on to it. Then he punched me in the head. The right side of my head is still in pain."
Osimhen allegedly hurled insults at the journalists and offered them money to delete the images. When his offer was declined, he issued threats, saying, "If these images are released, I will ruin you."
Osimhen's reaction escalated further as he physically and verbally confronted members of the press. The group reportedly surrounded one journalist, attempting to take their camera by force. The footballer's conduct shocked witnesses and drew criticism from fans.
Bozduman also recalled Osimhen's attempts to bribe the journalists, followed by more aggressive behavior.
Osimhen's outburst has created tension ahead of Galatasaray's match against Konyaspor in Istanbul.
Neither Osimhen nor Galatasaray has issued a statement addressing the situation. The club's management has not yet clarified whether they will take disciplinary action against the player. Supporters, however, have voiced their concerns on social media, calling on the team to address the incident and uphold its values.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan this season, has been under the spotlight for his on-field performances. However, this incident has shifted attention away from his athletic achievements, raising questions about his conduct off the field.
