Fenerbahce has secured a major signing ahead of the January transfer window, bringing in Brazilian footballer Anderson Talisca as their new playmaker.
Determined to end their 10-year wait for a Super Lig title, the club moved quickly to finalize the deal. Talisca's return to Türkiye marks a significant moment for the team, as he previously found success in the league with Besiktas.
Fenerbahce struggled with inconsistent results this season, prompting the club to reinforce their squad.
Vice President Acun Ilicali led the negotiations, securing an agreement with both Talisca and his current club, Al-Nassr. The deal brings Talisca to Fenerbahce on a loan with a purchase option, allowing the club to address its offensive challenges.
The club will pay half of Talisca's $12.5 million annual salary, amounting to $6.2 million. If the partnership continues beyond this season, Fenerbahce plans to offer Talisca a three-year contract.
Talisca's signing also aims to solve the problems created by Sebastian Szymanski's underwhelming performances. The Polish player failed to meet expectations, making Talisca's arrival even more critical for Fenerbahce's ambitions.
Talisca previously played in the Super Lig during the 2016–2017 season with Besiktas. His time with the club saw significant success, including a league championship. Fenerbahce fans are optimistic that Talisca will replicate his earlier performance and provide much-needed creativity in the midfield.
This season, Talisca played 19 matches for Al-Nassr and scored eight goals, showing his continued skill and scoring ability. Known for his versatility, technical skill, and powerful long-range shots, he has drawn praise from analysts.

Talisca's professional journey began in Brazil with Bahia. Born on Feb. 1, 1994, in Feira de Santana, he debuted for the club on July 7, 2013, in a match against Corinthians. Just days later, he scored his first goal in a game against Sao Paulo FC, quickly demonstrating his ability to deliver under pressure.
His standout performances at Bahia did not go unnoticed, as European scouts soon recognized his potential.
