Türkiye on Wednesday welcomed the Arab League's adoption of a reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip, the Foreign Ministry announced.
In a statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a permanent cease-fire, rebuilding Gaza, and ensuring Palestinians can live in peace on their land.
"We welcome the adoption of the plan for the reconstruction of Gaza at the Extraordinary Arab League Summit held in Cairo yesterday (4 March)," the ministry said.
"We remain committed to supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire, commencing the reconstruction of Gaza, and ensuring that the Palestinian people can live in peace on their own land," the statement continued.
The Arab League summit in Cairo on Tuesday approved a $53 billion reconstruction plan led by Egypt.
The initiative aims to rebuild the Gaza Strip without displacing its residents.
The Arab plan follows a controversial proposal from US President Donald Trump, who suggested a redevelopment strategy that would "take over" Gaza and transform it into what he described as "the Riviera of the Middle East."
His proposal was widely rejected by Arab nations and other countries, with critics arguing it amounted to forced displacement.
