In the fourth round of prisoner exchanges between Hamas and Israel, 183 Palestinian detainees were released, while three Israeli civilian men, including a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen, were freed in Gaza as part of an ongoing truce agreement.

Developments

  • A Red Cross convoy transported the released prisoners from Ofer Military Prison in the occupied West Bank to Ramallah, where they were greeted by cheering crowds. The convoy passed through Beitunia amid applause and celebrations.
  • The 183 Palestinian prisoners included 18 serving life sentences, 54 with heavy prison terms, and 111 detained after October 7, 2023, from Gaza.
  • As part of the exchange, Hamas released Ofer Calderon and Yarden Bibas, followed by Keith Siegel, a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen.
