Safranbolu's saffron has received a geographical indication registration from the EU, Rifat Hisarciklioglu, president of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkiye (TOBB), said on his social media account X.
Hisarciklioglu said that Safranbolu's saffron has become Turkiye's 19th product to receive a geographical indication registration from the EU. He stated, "Safranbolu saffron marks our country's first spice to be registered in the EU. This achievement is indeed auspicious for our country. I extend my congratulations to everyone who played a part in this success."
