Türkiye's Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek met Monday with representatives from more than 25 global institutions with a combined asset size exceeding $4 trillion during an investor meeting held in New York, U.

The 16th Türkiye Investment Conference, jointly organized by the Türkiye-U.S. Business Council and Citi Group, drew strong interest from a diverse group of participants, primarily portfolio investors.

In addition to the main event, Simsek held separate assessment meetings with senior executives from the world’s three leading credit rating agencies, Fitch, S&P Global and Moody's. He also met with John Dugan, chairman of the board of Citigroup. Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT) Governor Fatih Karahan accompanied Simsek during his meetings in New York.

Simsek's agenda in Washington, DC

Simsek’s U.S. visit will continue on Tuesday in Washington, D.C., where he will take part in a summit organized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and speak at a panel discussion titled “The Future of the Financial System,” alongside former World Bank President David Malpass.

His Washington program also includes a roundtable hosted by the Atlantic Council, a meeting with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and several investor sessions. Simsek is further scheduled to attend the G20 Finance Ministers’ Meeting and hold bilateral discussions with senior representatives from major multilateral development banks, including the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
